Whether your project is commercial or residential, you need to contact Superior Heating & Air to learn how geothermal can reduce your heating and cooling costs by up to 70%.  A Superior designed and installed system is saves you money and provides peace of mind knowing that it is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional HVAC solutions.

What is Geothermal?

Geothermal heat pump systems, or geoexchange systems, provide heating and air conditioning using the earth’s ability to act as a heat exchanger. This system can either heat or cool a building using the constant temperature of the ground or ground water below the earth’s surface. This is one of the most efficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologies currently available.

The standard system consists of three components; a loop field, a liquid pump pack, and a water-source heat pump. The loop field is installed on the property and transfers heat to and from the ground. A liquid pump pack is the second component whose function is to send water or solution through the loop field and the heat pump. The final component, the water-source heat pump, transfers heat from the loop field to the ductwork and into the building. The heat pump replaces a furnace or boiler in the traditional HVAC system.

To provide heating, the water circulating through the loop field absorbs heat from the ground and transports it into the building. The heat pump then transfers this heat into the HVAC ductwork to distribute warmth throughout the building.  Cooling is accomplished in the opposite manner. The warm air in the building is extracted through the heat pump and transferred to the loop field to be distributed into the ground. Since the system only requires a small amount of electricity to operate the heat pump and fan, it is vastly more efficient than traditional heating and cooling methods.

Why Choose Geothermal?

  • Lower Utility Bills – 25-70% lower than traditional systems
  • Government Rebates – see resources section
  • Environmentally Responsible
  • Low maintenance Improve humidity control by maintain comfortable 50% relative indoor humidity
  • Eliminates potential source of carbon monoxide
